Programme Description        Departmental Research Cells

M. Tech. (ECE) is a three years Programme. This programme encourages students to devise their individualized plan of study by selecting courses of their choice from Specialization, Domain Elective and Open Elective Courses besides Core Courses.

With the growing pace of communication and globalization, sources of data communication have been growing in all the sectors. One of the fastest growing area is in the stream of Electronics & communication Engineering. There are many opportunities for the professionals of ECE in the areas of consumer electronics, industrial electronics, telecommunication sector, automobile sector, IT sector and almost every industry in the current scenario. Specialization knowledge in this domain can be useful for corporate, academic as well as research organizations where there is a huge demand of ECE professionals. Also in addition the Mobile Phone Companies whether GSM or CDMA, are providing lucrative services at affordable prices to the consumers. The mobile phone companies are doing lot of research in enhancing their services.

India is one of the World’s fastest growing mobile phone markets. Mobile and Wireless technology has become a fire wave of the future to benefit every aspect of our life including business, personal, education, medical, entertainment as well as global communication.

The aim of this programme is to expertise students in Electronics and Communication Engineering area. This programme provides students in depth knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of subjects. This creates expertise in this field and creates skilled professionals for the industry and academia. Students will also be inclined to pursue research coupled to an understanding of the process of technological innovation and contribute effectively in industries related to Electronics and Communications Engineering.

Choice Based Credit System (CBCS):

Amity University offers the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in its academic curriculum, in its endeavor to provide quality education. Under this new system the students can register for courses according to their interests and academic abilities. CBCS allows students to decide their academic plan and permits them to alter it, if required, in their academic progression in pursuit of degree.
Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) offers a flexible system of learning. The system permits student to:

  • Choose electives from a wide range of courses
  • Undergo additional courses and acquire more than required number of credits
  • Adopt an interdisciplinary approach in learning
  • Enhance skill/employability by taking up project work, entrepreneurship and vocational training.
  • Choice in the timings / time slots in the selection of courses.
  • Choice in the selection of number of courses per semester.
  • Choice of preparing his / her own Time-table, programme structure and academic plan as per model framework.
  • Ample opportunities to do inter-disciplinary courses.
