Amity Institute of Clinical Psychology organised a guest lecture on ‘Clinical Skill Building’, on July 19, 2024. The session covered an overview of case history taking, rapport building, different types of traumas, foster, homelessness, sexual abuse, physical abuse, issues of widows, drug abuse, relationship issues and human trafficking.
The aim of the event was to make participants aware of the variety of patients and the key skills required as clinical psychologists. By addressing cultural issues across various countries and discussing the relevance of religious and spiritual practices in dealing with traumas, the event sought to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and motivation to join similar programs.
The event successfully highlighted the importance of understanding mental health issues in a diverse population. The speakers provided valuable insights into case history taking, rapport building, different types of traumas, and foster care. The participants were able to relate their cases to the current lecture, had their doubts cleared, and were motivated to join similar programs.
