A National webinar on the occasion of Sanskrit Diwas was organized by Amity Centre for Sanskrit and Indic Studies ,Amity School of Liberal Arts, AUH in collaboration with Wider Association for Vedic Studies ( WAVES ) on 6th August ,2020. Prof. P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, AUH, Prof. Ramesh KumarPandey Vice Chancellor, S.L. B. S. National Sanskrit University. Prof. Mahavir Agrawal, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, University of Patanjali, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, Dr.Meera Dwivedi Professor, Dept..of Sanskrit, University of Delhi, Dr.ShashiTiwari President, WAVES (India)& Former Prof., Dept. of Sanskrit, MC, University of Delhi were present in the National Webinar.
The Webinar began with recital of Manglacharan by Bibhu Ranjaan Mohanty.
Prof.Sanjay Kumar Jha, Director, Amity School of Liberal arts, delivered the welcome address. He opined that in present times we have high hopes from Sanskrit which would help in shaping one’s personality and character. He stated that Sanskrit has played a vital role in strengthening values in Indian society.
Hon. Vice Chancellor Prof. P B Sharma emphasized the importance of education which gives birth to human qualities. He mentioned the qualities of Lord Rama. Lord Rama possessed BAL, VIVEK, DAM AND PARHIT. He focused on the development of character, behavior and attitude in the students and not just earning marks and degrees.
Hon. Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Kumar Pandey in his talk emphasized the importance of hermitage. He highlighted the need of following high moral values in achieving one’s aim in life .
Hon. Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahabir Agrawal stated that sanskrit has potential to give solution to all contemporary problems faced by our society today.
Prof. Meera Dwiedi spoke regarding ideal societal relationship.
Prof. Shashi Tiwari President, WAVES (India) delivered vote of thanks and spoke about Sanskrit , Sanskar and Sanskriti.
The programme was interesting as well as intellectual enriching. More than hundred persons participated in it with great enthusiasm. Dr Supriya Sanju and Dr Aparna Dhir conducted the webinar.
