Workshop on live sketching

Amity School of Fine Arts (AID) organized live sketching workshop on the occasion of Orientation Programme 2020 for the fresher’s students of AID. In the first session Mr.Abhijit presented a A.B.C.D. means anybody can draw on the concept of visual art therapy. Professor Abhijit Mohanty enlighten  on the topic that the goal of art therapy is to utilize the creative process to help people explore self-expression and, in doing so, find new ways to gain personal insight and develop new coping skills. Techniques used in art therapy can include drawing, painting, coloring, sculpting, or collage. He also presented a video presentation on the portrait of Hon. former President Late Shri.Pranab Mukherjee.

Mr.Ramesh K Chaudhary presented a very beautiful presentation on doodling drawing. According to professor Chaudhary doodling is an unfocused drawing made while a person's attention is otherwise occupied. Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be abstract shapes. It’s the easiest thing to do and easy on the common media, such as paper, pen and pencil. These actions are often referred to as doodling.

The online sketching workshop students learned the concepts and understand some of the techniques used for live sketching, especially portrait and doodling. By the end of the workshop students will learn a live sketch using the taught techniques.

Overall it was very interesting workshop for students.
