Amity University Gurugram in collaboration with Association of Indian Universities organized ANVESHAN 2019-2020, a two day Student Research Convention (North Zone) on 16th – 17th January at Amity University Gurugram.
ANVESHAN is organized every year in five different zones of the country (i.e North, South, Center, East and West). This year AUG hosted this prestigious event.
The idea of organizing ANVESHAN is to identify young talents with research aptitude and interest to take up research as a career option, to promote the talent in research throughout the country, to nurture the talent through specialized training and education in some of the nationally and internationally reputed premier institutions of higher learning in the country and to provide proper incentives to enhance the skill of the students with potential.
Around 85 students from 15 Universities of Northern Indian States (LPU, Manav Rachna University, SGT University, Ch Bansi Lal University, NDRI-Karnal, etc) had participated in this two-day event.
The Chief Guest of the inaugural function Dr (Mrs) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary-General, Association of Indian Universities while addressing the gathering on 16th Jan 2020.
The awards were divided into five categories which include Agriculture, Basic & Applied Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Health Sciences, and Allied Subjects, Pharmacy, Nutrition, etc. and Social Sciences, Humanities, Commerce and Law (Objective and Result Oriented Projects). Winners from each category in Zonal level competitions will be eligible to participate in the National level Student Research Convention. The final winners at National Level students’ research convention was awarded Cash Prizes along with Certificates and Mementos. The amount of Cash Prize for first position holders is Rs. 75,000, second Position Rs. 50,000, and third position Rs. 25,000. One best project was also selected across all the five categories to be awarded a Gold Medal along with the cash prize and certificate.
Dr Amrendra Pani, Assistant Director, AIU talked about the economic growth in India and he also emphasized the role of the youth in research & innovations.
Prof (Dr) P B Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Gurugram while motivating the students said, “Programs like ANVESHAN are for making a better India. Research and Innovation require no money but the idea only.”
