Nanocomposite materials for waste water remediation and environmental sustainability

The Mechanical Engineering Department of Amity School of Engineering and Technology organised a webinar on Nanocomposite Materials for Waste Water Remediation and Environmental Sustainability by Prof. Ajay Kumar Mishra, Professor in Nanotechnology and Water Sustainability Unit, College of Science, Engineering and Technology, University of South Africa, Johannesburg, South Africa on 1st May 2020. There were almost 75 participants including the faculties and students. The Director ASET, Dr. S.N. Sridhara, convened the webinar, while Dr. Sanjeev Sharma and Ms. Rashi Koul were the co-convener.

Prof Mishra gave insights about the rapid growth of industrialization, urbanization, population growth, and climate change have played a role in pollution of water resources. He emphasized that Nanocomposites are intelligent materials which can be used to eliminate bacteria, viruses, and inorganic and organic pollutants from wastewater due to precise binding action. Water purification methods are the focus and attention of the many scientist and governmental agencies. The session ended with an interactive session between the guest, faculties and students.
