A Guest Lecture on “Introduction to Neuropsychology” was organised by AICP on 21 May 2026. Through practical examples and real-life clinical perspectives, the session strengthened trainees’ knowledge of neuropsychological evaluation, cognitive rehabilitation, and neurological disorders while inspiring greater academic interest and research orientation in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology.
It aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of brain–behaviour relationships, cognitive functioning, and neuropsychological assessment while familiarizing them with commonly used assessment tools such as the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), Trail Making Test (TMT), Bender Gestalt Test, and Memory Assessment Scales. The session also sought to encourage academic interest and research in Clinical Neuropsychology by providing practical insights through the expert lecture delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Rajeswaran Jamuna, Professor and Head, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS).
The session concluded successfully with an insightful lecture delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Rajeswaran Jamuna, who shared her extensive expertise in clinical neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, and neurorehabilitation. The programme enhanced participants’ understanding of brain–behaviour relationships, cognitive processes, neuropsychological assessment, and the clinical application of assessment tools such as the MMSE, WCST, TMT, Bender Gestalt Test, and Memory Assessment Scales.
