Ms. Anna Merin Mathew is experienced in linguistics, neurolinguistics, and language education. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience of Language from the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar). Her doctoral research primarily focuses on the intersection of neurolinguistics and cognitive neuroscience, contributing valuable insights into linguistic structures and cognitive processes. With electroencephalography (EEG-ERP) as a research methodology, she attempts to investigate the neural mechanisms in the human brain that control the comprehension, production, and acquisition of language(s). Her research maps the relationship between language (information) processing and cognitive functioning by examining how much time it takes to comprehend linguistic inputs (temporal dimension) and what regions in the brain are actively involved during the process of language comprehension (spatial dimension). Throughout her academic career, Ms. Mathew has presented her research at various national and international conferences in the fields of language processing, linguistics, and education. Her work, which addresses the linguistic challenges faced by students with developmental dyslexia, particularly focusing on deficits in phonological and morphological awareness, was published as a conference proceeding, further cementing her contributions to the field.
