Amity University Jharkhand Organized "Sangathan 2019"
Amity University Jharkhand organized "Sangathan 2019"—A Sports Meet on 13th and 14th November 2019. Sangathan means union, unity, and consolidation. True to its meaning Sangathan conducted at Amity University embodied the spirit of sportsmanship. The grandeur of Sangathan-2019 reached a new hight with the students getting the opportunity to compete in various games and sports including basketball, volleyball, cricket, kabaddi, football, sprint, etc.
On this auspicious occasion, the chief guest Colonel Jiwan Kumar Singh inspired the students with his powerful words that students should dream big and higher than the sky. Addressing the participants, he added that the most important thing in a game is to participate rather than winning or losing it. He talked about the interconnection between discipline and sports. He also said, "Consistency and discipline are the two most important things we should apply in our life to achieve success.
Amongst other dignitaries Colonel Arun Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor Amity University Jharkhand, and Mr. Prabhakar Tripathi, Registrar, Amity University Jharkhand also motivated the students with their words of wisdom.
On the final day of the sports meet, B tech team girls' team bagged the first position in volleyball and the BBA boys' team bagged the first position in Volleyball. In football BBA boys' team bagged the first position. In 100-meter race, Vivek Raj of BBA bagged the first prize and Aastha Tiwary of BCA bagged the first position in it. In 200 meter race, Akriti of MCA secured the first position.
Similarly, various other sports competitions like Kabaddi, Tug of War and Cricket were organized and participants were awarded for their excellent performance in sports. The sports event ended with the vote of thanks.
