Guest Lecture on Emerging Trends in Biological Diversity and Biotechnology for Food and Nutrition by Prof. KC Bansal, Haryana Vigyan Ratna

 Amity Institute of Biotechnology organized a guest lecture on Emerging Trends in Biological Diversity and Biotechnology for Food and Nutrition on 2nd May, 2019 at Amity University Gurugram. The lecture was delivered by Prof. KC Bansal, Senior Fellow and Area Convener, TDNBC, TERI and attended by the faculty of AIB and other departments.

Prof. P B Sharma, Vice Chancellor gave a brief overview of the challenges we face today in the field of agriculture and how to tackle them.

Prof K C Bansal in his lecture gave a current chronicle of the happenings in the area of plant biotechnology, especially how publicly available huge data and resources can be used for cutting edge science. He also stressed on the importance of integrating other disciplines of science like computational biology to get success in this area.

Prof. Bansal was given a tour of the entire campus which included the labs, farm, herbal garden, military training centre, and the dog training centre.
