Amity University Mumbai Conducted Guest Lecture On Theories Of Feminism
Amity Law School conducted half day guest lecture program by Dr. Vibhuti Patel that gave students a brief explanation about how women since ancient times have been suppressed and the issues that have been faced by them in this world. Focusing over the constitution of India and how women empowerment is needed. Patriarchy and its dominance still plays a major role in the society. Many feminist theories like – Radical theory, Marxist theory, Liberal theory, etc. was explained during the whole session.
The objective of the event was
1) Focusing on the rights of women.
2) Concerning about recent changes in the constitution .
3) Imparting knowledge over age old traditions and its reasonability.
4) Imparting knowledge over Feminist Legal Theory
The guest lecture was conducted with an envisaged to bring change in the minds of the population with regards to patriarchal dominance and to make aware about the issues pertaining to the same to law students. Apart from that aim was to focus on the current issues and work on its loopholes for which students needs to have ancient world knowledge about the suppressed class and anatomy of male dominance.
