Dr. Indrajeet Rai, CEO & MD, Laxhar Labs, highlights the Role of Forensics and Innovation in Building a Safer Tomorrow, at Amity
Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, organised a Guest Lecture on “Forensics and Innovation: Transforming Investigations for a Safer Tomorrow”, by Dr. Indrajeet Rai, CEO & MD, Laxhar Labs. The session provided students with valuable insights into the evolving landscape of forensic science and the transformative role of technology and innovation in modern investigations.
Addressing the students, Dr. Indrajeet Rai highlighted the growing significance of forensic science in strengthening investigation processes and ensuring evidence-based justice. He elaborated on how emerging technologies, scientific methodologies and innovative approaches are reshaping the way crimes are investigated and analysed. Dr. Rai stated that Forensic Market in India is currently estimated at Rs 2,281 cr and is expected to grow to Rs 11,924 cr by FY 2029-30. He cited rising cybercrimes, greater use of electronic evidence in courts and investigations, rising compliance of legal awareness, increase in corporate frauds, insider threats and IP theft cases, as the reason for the growth of this sector.
He further noted that traditional forensics were based only on examining the evidence, however, New Age Forensics are based on preserving, authenticating, analysing, interpreting and legally defending evidence across the entire digital -physical ecosystem. He told the students that their career in Forensic Science is not only based upon their Degree, but it depends upon what they can actually do in this field and how they can utilize their skills and learning, to make advancements in this area. He encouraged students to develop a scientific temperament, remain curious and explore innovative solutions that can contribute to more efficient and reliable investigations.
Dr. Amarnath Mishra, Associate Professor, Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences, said, “The integration of innovation and advanced technology with forensic science is transforming the investigative landscape. Such expert interactions provide students with a deeper understanding of emerging forensic techniques while inspiring them to contribute to the development of more scientific, accurate and effective investigation systems.”
Also present on the occasion was Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Deputy Director, Corporate Resource Centre, Domain-Science & Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh. The interactive session provided students an opportunity to engage with the expert, seek insights into emerging trends in forensic science and understand potential career opportunities in this rapidly evolving field.
