Seminar on “Current Trends in Medical Application of Radiation”, held at Amity

Amity Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (AINST) & Amity Institute of Applied Science (AIAS), Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP), Noida Campus in collaboration with Fortis Healthcare Research Foundation (FHRF) & Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), organized an insightful Seminar on “Current Trends in Medical Application of Radiation”, at AUUP, Noida Campus. Around 80 participants, from Delhi University and Amity University participated in the Seminar.

 

Addressing the participants Guest of Honour, Dr. (Mrs.) B. K. Sapra, Associate Director, Medical Group Head, Radiological Physics & Advisory Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, averred, “Nuclear medicine offers several benefits, including early detection and identifying diseases at their earliest stages, often before symptoms become evident, developing targeted treatment plans based on individual patient needs and providing diagnostic information without the need for surgery or other invasive procedures. However, there is a shortage of Nuclear Medicine Technologies and students need to join this field so that they can develop new technologies and bridge the gap.”

 

Dr. Ishita B. Sen, Senior Director Nuclear Medicine, Fortis, Gurugram, stated, “Current trends in medical applications of radiation are rapidly evolving, driven by technological advancements and research breakthroughs, leading to more effective treatments and better patient outcomes. Therefore, there is a need to develop new technologies in this field which can further enhance the scope of Nuclear Medicine.” 

 

Dr. Alpana Goel, Director AINST, said, “The Seminar aims to unite globally renowned scientists, doctors, industry leaders, distinguished academicians and representatives from renowned hospitals on a single platform to exchange Insights, foster collaboration and share cutting-edge knowledge with the participants, which will be highly beneficial for them.”

During the Seminar, Invited Talks and Panel Discussions on “Future trends and Innovations in Nuclear Medicine” moderated by Dr. Parul Thakral, Chief Radiopharmacist, Nuclear Medicine, Fortis, Gurugram and “Future Directions in Nuclear Medicine Education and Training”, moderated by Dr. Ishita B. Sen, Senior Director, Nuclear Medicine, Fortis, Gurugram, will be organized wherein panelists such as Dr. Sanjay Gambhir, Head Nuclear Medicine, Hind Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, Dr. Anil Kumar Pandey, Professor, Nuclear Medicine Technology, All India Institute of Nuclear Medicine, New Delhi and others will participate.
