Prof. Nalinaksh S. Vyas, Emeritus Professor, IIT Kanpur, motivates Amity Researchers to innovate
Directorate of Innovation and Technology Transfer (DITT), Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP), Noida campus, felicitated the visit of Prof. Nalinaksh S. Vyas, Emeritus Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur & Chairman, DST-Technology Enabling Centres at AUUP, to Amity University Noida campus. During his visit, Prof. Vyas interacted with Researchers and delivered an Expert Talk on “Industry 4.0 and Digital Twinning of Large Systems.”
Delivering his talk, Prof. Nalinaksh S. Vyas, averred, “Technology has advanced tremendously, and Industry 4.0 is the Fourth Industrial Revolution wherein Internet of Things (IoT) has evolved as a new technology. It is not only limited to human-to human interaction, now even machines and devices are interacting with each other through technology. Apart from IoT, Industry 4.0 includes cloud computing, manufacturing processes, quality control, sensors, signal processing and data acquisition. The key design principles in Industry 4.0 include information transparency, better decision-making, predictive maintenance, improved process efficiency and technical assistance provided by the use of advanced technologies like AI, robotics, and automation to support humans in their tasks, thereby enabling greater flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness in production processes.”
Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, AUUP, stated, “Industry 4.0 is transforming the manufacturing sector by integrating digital, physical, and biological systems, resulting in Increased Efficiency, Improved Product Quality, Enhanced Flexibility and development of new business models. Prof. Vyas’s insights will be invaluable for the Amity Academic and Research community.”
Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President ASTIF said, “The Session by Prof. Vyas promises to enhance understanding of Industry 4.0 and Digital Twinning, while inspiring budding Researchers to explore cutting-edge Technological Innovations.”
