Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel calls upon the Universities to work for National Development during AIU’s “National Conference of Vice Chancellors” at Amity

Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, addressed the Valedictory Session of the ‘National Conference of Vice Chancellors’, organized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU), at Amity University Noida campus, from 23rd-24th June 2025, marking 100 years of AIU’s establishment.

Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel said, “There are many Universities in the world who are doing very well in their respective areas, but they should also work on primary and secondary education of children and help to eliminate the problem of malnutrition, which will lead to national development. Just imparting education should not be the responsibility of higher education institutions; they should go beyond that and ensure access to clean drinking water and proper health and sanitation facilities. In addition, skill development and training are extremely crucial, even for the Vice Chancellors. Women should be provided equal opportunities, and working towards achieving the goal of zero poverty should be our mission. The MoUs signed between the Universities across the world should not only remain on paper, but they should actually foster exchange of learning and knowledge for the benefit of the students. Our vision is to make India a developed nation and a “Vishwa Guru” and “Prachaar” and “prasaar” should be for learning. We must take pride in India’s rich heritage and legacy and make the children aware about the inventions and discoveries made by India in the ancient past.” She also congratulated AIU for completing 100 years and lauded Amity University for its commendable efforts in the area of higher education and Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan for being a visionary educationist.

Anandiben Patel, for gracing the Valedictory Session of the Conference. Her presence is highly inspirational, which has infused fresh energy and enthusiasm in all of us present here today.
