Amity University organizes “Yoga Samavesh” (Satellite Programme) to promote Women’s Health and Fitness
Amity University Noida organized "Yoga Samavesh” (Satellite Programme) in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Ministry of AYUSH, as part of the grand celebration of International Day of Yoga (IDY) – 2025. This special Programme, “Yoga for Women: Strength and Serenity” was dedicated to promoting holistic well-being and empowering young women of 12 to 35 years age group. The event aimed to instil the importance of a healthy lifestyle and encourage regular exercise amongst the female participants.
Highlighting the importance of Yoga, Acharya Seema Ji, Founder, Kanya Gurukul, Noida, said, “Yoga must be included in our daily life lifestyle to ensure that we have a healthy body and mind. By incorporating yoga into their daily routine, students can develop better concentration, manage stress, increase their physical fitness, and develop a positive self-image. Today, young women in the age group of 12 to 35 years, do not pay much attention to their health since they are focussed on building their career. However, they should also focus on their health and practice yoga which will help them in developing their confidence and personality.”
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh stated, “Yoga Samavesh is among the 10 Signature Events of International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025 and the aim of this programme is to promote physical fitness and wellness among women and young girls. Yoga has long been known as a beneficial way to increase flexibility, balance, physical and mental strength. Today, people across the world are practicing Yoga and experiencing its great benefits. At Amity, physical fitness and well-being of the students is of utmost importance and yoga sessions are organized every day for the students so that they become happy and healthy.”
Dr. Neha Vasisht, Founder, WHRF Trust Noida, averred, “Yoga has been an integral part of our lives since ancient times and now it has been embraced by the whole world. Yoga is a way of life which takes care of all aspects of life– physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Yoga helps to establish a balance between the body, mind and soul, which is essential for a happy and healthy life.”
During the Programme, yoga experts led a yoga session for the students and faculty of Amity and taught various yoga asanas like Pranayama, Dandasana, Vajrasana, Kapalbhati and others. Students of Amity Summer School Program also participated in the session.
