Workshop on "Discovering AI" held at Amity University in collaboration with Springer Nature

A workshop on "Discovering AI" was organized at Amity University Noida campus in collaboration with Springer Nature. The workshop was organized with the aim to provide information on the ethical use of AI for publications, to the students and researchers.

 

Dr. Janina Krieger, Senior Manager Books Publishing Solutions at Springer Nature, Germany, said that while AI is a powerful tool, it must be used responsibly and ethically. She highlighted the importance of transparency, especially in academic settings, where declaring AI use is essential. She also pointed out the environmental impact of AI, urging for more sustainable and efficient approaches. She encouraged researchers to view AI not just as a shortcut, but as a tool that, when used wisely, can support innovation, ethical practice, and long-term progress.

 

Providing information about the workshop, Ms. Swati Meherishi, Editorial Director, Applied Science & Engineering, Springer Nature, said that with any technology comes the responsibility of using it properly, therefore, this workshop will definitely help the participants to understand how AI should be used in the right way.

 

Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, "At Amity, we inspire researchers, students and scientists to present papers, publish, research and innovate, and also use advanced technologies like AI which is beneficial for them. This workshop is an excellent opportunity for faculty members and researchers who are interested in enhancing their academic writing and publishing skills with the aid of AI.”

 

Ms. Noopur Singh, Senior Editor, Springer Nature was also present at the workshop. Prof. (Dr.) Nitasha Hasteer, Dy. Director (Academics)and HOD-IT, Amity School of Engineering & Technology welcomed the participants and the guests. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Manoj Pandey, Director, Amity School of Engineering & Technology. The Workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A Session.
