2nd International Conference on “Forensics, Security & Law (ICFSL-2025)”, held at Amity

Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences (AIFS), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus organized the “2nd International Conference on Forensics, Security & Law (ICFSL-2025)on, “Recent Advancements in Forensic Sciences & National Security”, from 20th - 21st March 2025. The aim of the conference was to discuss real time cases of homeland security, forensic investigation, pros and cons of the recent advancements in forensic sciences, global security, and law.

 

Inaugurating the Conference, Chief Guest, Sh. Gaurav Singh, IRS, Director, Central Board of Direct Taxe, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, averred, “Forensic Science plays a vital role in the investigation and resolution of crimes, as well as in the administration of justice. Advances in Forensic Science have led to improved analytical techniques, such as DNA analysis and digital forensics. However, new rules need to be made so that forensic science can be become more effective in solving criminal cases. Jurisdiction is very important in solving the cases, which includes who collects the evidence and how it is collected. Cyber Crimes are on the rise and there is a need for efficient Forensic Experts who can solve the cases meticulously.”

 

Guest of Honour, Dr. S. K. Jain, Director cum Chief Forensic Scientist, Directorate of Forensic Science Services (Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India), New Delhi, stated, “Forensic Science, with its rapid advancements, has become indispensable for solving crimes, ensuring justice, and enhancing national security. The world today faces a variety of security threats, including terrorism, cybercrime, organized crime, and bioterrorism, which demand innovative solutions. In this environment, forensic sciences have emerged as a powerful tool in both identifying perpetrators and safeguarding nations. The fusion of forensic science with national security initiatives has created new synergies, allowing for more accurate crime-solving methods and the ability to anticipate and counter security threats more effectively. Recent breakthroughs in DNA analysis, digital forensics, Artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning have revolutionized the field, allowing forensic experts to process evidence faster and more accurately.”

 

Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, The conference theme underscores the urgent need to integrate the technological advancements into national and international security frameworks. With cybercrime on the rise, national security agencies are increasingly reliant on digital forensics to prevent, detect, and mitigate attacks. At the same time, forensic science must keep pace with the growing complexity of crimes and the ever-evolving strategies of criminals.”

 

Dr. Amarnath Mishra, Associate Professor, Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences, said, “The conference brings together leading minds from diverse fields such as Forensic Science, Criminology, Law Enforcement, National Security, Legal Studies and Technology. The conference will provide an interdisciplinary platform for academics, researchers, professionals, and policymakers to explore the most recent developments, challenges, and solutions in these critical areas. The conference will also serve as a catalyst for research and development that addresses these needs while fostering cooperation across borders.”

An Abstract Book was also released during the Inaugural Session.

 

During the two-day Conference, Technical Sessions on Current trends in Forensic Speaker Identification and Tape Authentication”, “Current Status of Anti-Doping Science in India and Growing Opportunities”, “Recent Advancement in Forensic Medical Sciences”, “Wildlife Crime in India: Challenges and preventive measure”, “Advancing Forensics, Security, and Law: Challenges and Opportunities”, will also be organized.
