Heritage Walk: Echoes of Kolkata
Amity Institute of Travel & Tourism at Amity University Kolkata organized a Heritage Walk and Community Engagement to promote experiential learning, heritage conservation, and civic engagement. Guided by Soham Chakraborty (Founder, Calcutta Capsule) and Dr Vandita Hajra, the event immersed students in the activities of responsible tourism.
Starting at Maidan, Kolkata, which is a vast urban green space, the students of Amity Institute of Travel & Tourism conducted a cleanliness drive to show their civic responsibility. Taking a visit to the historic Mohun Bagan Club, one of the oldest football clubs in Asia, was inspirational as the students could explore the facts about IFA Shield victory in 1911, and the club’s involvement in the freedom for independence. This initiative reinforced Amity’s dedication to sustainable tourism and community engagement, inspiring students as heritage custodians.
