Workshop on Tourism for Inclusive Growth
An insightful workshop was conducted on the National Tourism Day 2025 by Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism, Kolkata. It was intended to bridge the two poles of academia and industry under the common theme of Tourism for Inclusive Growth. Led by Mr. Towsif Mohammed Iftikher Anam, Deputy General Manager at SOTC Travel Ltd, the session explored navigating a VUCA world and adopting MAANG principles — innovation, seamless service, and intuitive customer experiences.
Mr. Towsif highlighted the topics like Generative AI vs. Agentive AI in tourism, while emphasizing customer engagement and personalized itineraries. Including the key industry functions — sales, operations, and tour management — he addressed the important challenges felt by the industry, for example, customer retention and digitalization. The speaker also covered the human-centric services and linked them to UN SDGs 8 & 9, reinforcing the role of sustainable tourism in economic growth.
