Dr Sanjay Saxena, General Manager, BIRAC deliberates upon Startup Funding Opportunities for Young Innovators, at Amity
Dr. Sanjay Saxena, General Manager & Head (Investment) from Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) visited Amity University for a focused discussion on “Funding Opportunities at BIRAC: i4 and PACE Schemes”, under Amity’s Mission, “Knowledge to Wealth Faculty Startups”.
The discussion aimed to provide valuable insights and essential skills while highlighting the significance of startup funding opportunities for young innovators and academics. It also intended to empower the participants to effectively navigate the funding landscape, fostering the development of research-driven startups.
Delivering a Talk on “Funding Opportunities at BIRAC: i4 and PACE Schemes”, Dr. Sanjay Saxena, General Manager & Head, Investment, BIRAC, averred, “BIRAC is set up by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, Interface Agency with an aim to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs. Promoting Academic Research Conversion to Enterprise (PACE) , encourages and supports academia to develop biotechnological products and technologies and their subsequent validation by an industrial partner. The Scheme has two components – Academic Innovation Research (AIR) and Contract Research Scheme(CRS).” He also explained the technical criteria for applicants under AIR and CRS and encouraged the researchers to submit their proposals to BIRAC and work towards nation -building through research and innovation.”

Selvamurthy, President Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation said, “Research and Innovation are major thrust areas of Amity with strong focus to harness the potential of funding opportunities for startups. The Session concluded with a Q&A Session and also present on the occasion were the scientists and researchers of Amity.
