International Conference on Vision Developed India 2047 held at Amity University
A one-day conference on "Vision Developed India 2047 – Enhancing Competency-Based Education through Innovative Educational Interventions" was organized by the Faculty of Education, Amity University in collaboration with ICSSR.
Inaugurating the conference, Padma Shri Prof. J S Rajput, Former Director, NCERT, averred, “Our focus should be on competition and competency-based education. “Teachers need to have the ability to build context, concepts and content. It is not enough to have merit but commitment for your work, therefore. it is necessary to be committed to your work. Change is happening everywhere, but every change does not signify development. Acquiring knowledge is of no use if it cannot be used for growth and development, therefore knowledge must be used as an empowering tool for development.”
Prof. C.B. Sharma, Director, School of Education, IGNOU stated, “First assess yourself and understand how hard you have to work to succeed in this competitive era. Often our interest lies in another area, while we are working in some other field, so it is necessary to recognize our interest areas, qualities and accordingly acquire the knowledge and qualification to work in that particular field. In ancient times we were pioneers in every discipline. The new education policy has bridged the gap between degree and employment and is providing a huge number of employment opportunities and a new learning environment. We must adopt innovation-based teaching methods and promote competency-based education in order to make India a developed country.”
Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh said, “The theme of the conference emphasizes upon promoting competency-based education through innovative educational interventions. The New Education Policy 2020 is paving the way to achieve the goals of a developed India. At present, the challenges faced in the field of school education and higher education can be overcome by quality teaching. We need field-based output, competency-based output, and project-based output, in order to ensure an efficient education system.”
