IDEOSCAPES:MAPPING IDEOLOGICAL DEBATES

On December 6, 2024, the Amity Institute of Social Sciences (AISS) organized an insightful event, "Ideoscapes: Mapping Ideological Debates," to explore the diverse ideologies that have shaped the global socio-economic and political landscape. Held in Lecture Theatre Room 203, Block D, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the program provided an engaging platform for intellectual discourse and critical analysis.

The event commenced with a ceremonial opening led by Prof. (Dr.) Iti Roychowdhury, Director of AISS/ASL/Ascent and Dean-DSW, along with the distinguished faculty. The inaugural session featured thought-provoking addresses representing 20 nations, emphasizing the spirit of dialogue and the celebration of unity in diversity.

The highlight of the program was a vibrant debate and discussion involving delegates from various countries. These discussions delved into the core principles of three major ideological frameworks: CapitalismCommunism, and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). Participants skillfully examined the historical origins, philosophical underpinnings, and modern-day relevance of these ideologies. Topics included economic equity, political sovereignty, and the role of global solidarity in addressing contemporary challenges.

The event aimed to deepen students' understanding of the evolution of ideologies, encouraging them to critically assess the strengths and weaknesses of each system. By engaging in this intellectual exploration, participants celebrated the richness of ideological diversity and reflected on its enduring quest for social and economic justice in an interconnected world.
This enriching experience not only highlighted the power of ideological dialogue but also inspired students to appreciate the complexities of global socio-political dynamics.
