Amity University explores collaboration opportunities with Airox Nigen Equipments Pvt. Ltd., in Hydrogen Sector

Seniors Officials from ‘Airox Nigen Equipments Pvt. Ltd’, including Mr. Anil Agrawal, Founder & Managing Director, Airox Nigen Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Anirudh Agrawal, Chief Strategy Officer, Airox Nigen Equipments Pvt. Ltd, and Mr. Sunil Puri, CEO, Airox Nigen Equipments Pvt. Ltd.  visited Amity University, Noida campus. The purpose of the visit was to explore the opportunities for collaboration in the Hydrogen Sector, with regards to development of advanced catalysts to enhance hydrogen-related reactions, scaling sustainable hydrogen production technologies, generation of electricity and hydrogen production from wastewater, and exploring Joint Technical Programs in Hydrogen Sector.

 

Addressing Amity Scientists, Mr. Anil Agrawal, Founder & Managing Director, Airox Nigen stated, “Amity University is a highly reputed institution, and we are excited to explore collaboration opportunities with Amity in the hydrogen sector. India's hydrogen sector is poised for significant growth, driven by the government's ambitious plans to make India a global hub for green hydrogen production and exports. The National Hydrogen Mission, aims to accelerate the deployment of green hydrogen to meet India's climate targets and reduce dependence on fossil fuels and we are certain that together, we can find novel solutions through research and innovation in this sector.”

 

Giving an Introduction of Airox Nigen, Mr. Aniruddh Agrawal, Chief Strategy officer, Airox Nigen, averred, “Airox Nigen was founded in the year 1994 and became a leader in hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen generation and air treatment. It is the only company in India which has developed its own indigenised electrolyzer and has successfully completed more than 75 hydrogen projects. Under the Prime Minister’s vision of Aatm Nirbhar Bharat, the hydrogen sector in India is booming and there is immense scope for industries and academia to carry out research in this sector.”

 

Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “The National Hydrogen Mission aims to increase green hydrogen's share in India's total hydrogen demand to 46% by 2030, creating a sizable market for green hydrogen production and associated technologies. Amity University and Airox Nigen can join hands and take the hydrogen industry to the next level, making India a developed nation by 2047.”

Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President Amity Science technology and Innovation Foundation, said, “Increasing government support, rising demand for clean energy and declining production costs are driving huge demand for clean energy sources like green hydrogen. Some of the important areas where Amity and Airox Nigen can work together are capacity building, skill development, R&D, photocatalysis and scaling up the technology, in order to enhance the growth of hydrogen sector.”

 

On this occasion, a presentation on Amity’s contribution to ‘Energy Sector’ was made by Dr. Sunita Rattan, Director, Amity Institute of Applied Sciences,and Dr. A K Singh, Sr. Vice President, Amity Foundation for Science Technology and Innovation Alliance, presented an overview of the R&D Ecosystem of Amity University. In addition, a visit to the research facilities of Amity was made by the team of Airox Nigen, and a Q& A Session between Amity scientists and Airox Nigen team was also conducted.
