Amity Humanity Foundation, in collaboration with Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), organizes ASMO Training Program, for empowering Underprivileged Sections of the society

Amity Humanity Foundation, in collaboration with Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), organized Advance Sewing Machine Operator (ASMO)  Training Program from June-November 2024, to empower men and women from the underprivileged sections of the society, by skilling them and enabling them to earn their livelihood. The trainees were mobilised from adjoining villages of Noida such as Chhalera, Surajpur, Kasna, Tugalpur, Sadarpur, Raipur and others.

 

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Amandeep Singh, Senior Vice President IGL said, “We launched this initiative along with Amity Humanity Foundation in the year 2017. Through this Program, we not only focus on skill development but also ensure that the skilled professionals are able to meet the industry requirements. Women empowerment is extremely crucial for the development of the nation and 95% of the participants who received training under this Programs are women. The government of India is strongly focussing on skill development in order to make our country economically developed and self-reliant and this Program is in sync with the government’s initiative.”

 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shyamlendu Niyogi, Director General Amity Humanity Foundation, averred, “This noble initiative by Amity Humanity Foundation and IGL, under the visionary guidance of Hon’ble Mrs. Pooja Chauhan, Chairperson of Amity Humanity Foundation, aims to empower the underprivileged sections of the society. We wish all the participants success in all their future endeavours and hope that they will create a brighter future for themselves through this Training Program.”

 

Highlighting the significance of the Program, Mr. Manoj Kumar Yadav, Deputy Director, Amity Humanity Foundation, stated, “During the six-month Training Program, the participants were trained under the guidance of experienced professionals on industrial sewing machines, providing them with hands-on experience and equipping them to maintain production efficiency once they are employed. The beneficiaries can work as wage earners or become self-employed, once they have received the training. Apart from the training, special soft skill classes for the trainees, were also incorporated with a long-term perspective of maintaining quality in business relations with clients. The various steps under the training program include Mobilization, Counselling, Documentation, Training, Assessment, Certification and Placements. This year a total of 93 women and 7 men participated in the Training Program, out of which 80% got industry placements and 20% became self-employed.”

 

Sharing her experience, Ms. Soni, a participant of ASMO Program said, “We are extremely grateful to Amity Humanity Foundation and IGL for this great initiative, under which free of cost training is provided to all the participants. All the material is also provided to the participants, and they are guided very well by industry professionals, under this Program.”

The Program concluded with the Distribution of Certificates to the participants.
