Brief Report of the Activity:
(i) Introduction:
1)    Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior organized an “Innovative Startup Competition: Presentation on Startup Ideas” held on 16th August 2024. This program was organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council of Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior. This is the fourth quarter of activities for IIC 6.0, the Innovation Council established by the Ministry of Education.
2)    The program was held in the Seminar Hall (Block C) at Amity University Madhya Pradesh. It was coordinated by Dr. Naveen Sharma, Professor, and Mr. Arvind Singh Jadon, Assistant Professor, from the Amity Institute of Pharmacy, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) S. Mohana Lakshmi, Director. Over 100 B. Pharm students from the 3rd, 5th, and 7th semesters actively participated.
 
(ii) Aims/Objective(s): The objectives of the event were -
Ø  Motivate students to think outside the box and develop innovative concepts that have the potential to disrupt existing industries or pioneer new market segments.
Ø  Analyse the proposed startup ideas for their feasibility and sustainability, including market demand, business model, scalability, and prospects for long-term success.
Ø  Cultivate and showcase students' entrepreneurial abilities, encompassing business planning, pitching, market analysis, and financial forecasting. The competition provides a practical platform for entrepreneurs to refine these skills.
Ø  Identify promising startups with high growth potential and innovative ideas. The competition often offers prizes, funding, mentorship, or incubation opportunities to support these startups in their development.
Ø  Evaluate students' ability to not only generate innovative ideas but also effectively implement them.

(v) Highlights of the Event/Activity: In this event, Dr Vimal Kumar Gupta, HOD, Department of Civil, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, was the Judge for the event. He said Innovative ideas lead to the development of new products, services, and industries, which in turn create jobs, drive economic growth, and improve living standards.  Dr. Neeraj Mishra, Professor, urged students to share their innovative ideas, emphasizing their role as catalysts for improving entrepreneurial skills. He stressed the importance of not only tackling present challenges but also laying the groundwork for future advancements, ensuring society's ongoing evolution and improvement
 
The theme for this program was “Innovative Startup Competition: Presentation on Startup Ideas” On this occasion students presented their ideas such as sustainable packaging material, ambulance booking services, etc. The competition winners were Mr. Devam and Ms. Bhumi from the 3rd semester (first place), Mr. Abhishek, Mr. Kanha, and Ms. Mansi from the 7th semester (second place), and Mr. Surya Pratap Singh and Ms. Roshni from the 5th semester (third place). After the results were announced, Dr. Naveen Sharma delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the participant's dedication and hard work in making the event a success.
 
(vi) Outcome(s): The program aimed to achieve the following outcomes:
These events encouraged our students to contemplate innovative ideas that are reshaping the field of pharmacy and other technical sectors. By participating, students gained insights into transforming innovative ideas into startups. Successful startups can lead to the creation of new products and services, economic growth, industry disruption, and cultural shifts. Although the journey is fraught with risks, the potential rewards—for both the startup and society—are substantial.
