“Hunger and passion are the prerequisites for achieving success”, says Dr. Sasmit Patra, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) , at Amity
Amity Business School, Amity University Noida campus, organized a Guest lecture by Dr. Sasmit Patra, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), on the topic “Empowering Youth to be Change Catalysts”, for management students. The Guest Lecture was organized as a Curtain Raiser to the upcoming flagship event, the 10th edition of Global Leadership Research Conference (GLRC 20250).
Addressing the students, Dr. Sasmit Patra, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), said, “It is crucial to have a goal in life in order to become successful, however, only becoming successful is not important but sustaining the success is important. Students must have a strong hunger to achieve their goals since it is passion which drives a person to become successful in their endeavours.”
Citing his own example, he further added, “I became a Politician since I had a strong desire to work for the society. Change should be embraced, and students must become the change makers who can work for the society and add value to themselves and their environment. Politics needs younger generation since they are the future leaders. They must prove themselves by their performance, not by their words. Students must aim to become entrepreneurs, and the government is providing a good ecosystem for start-ups as many policies and funding schemes have been launched by the government. They must visit Incubators and see how the start-ups are growing and succeeding. Also, instead of thinking about what the government is doing, the youth should have a strong desire and willingness to become entrepreneurs.” He called upon the students to work hard, learn new skills and stay focussed on their goal.
Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Additional Pro Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh & Dean FMS, stated, “It is our privilege and honour to have Dr. Sasmit Patra amongst us today whose words have been highly motivational and inspiring for the students. He is not only a Politician but a highly accomplished academician and lawyer, whose rich and diverse experience has been of immense benefit to our students.”
