Prof. (Dr.) Henry C. Lee, Emeritus Professor, Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, University New Haven, Connecticut, USA, conferred upon Honorary Professorship by Amity University
Prof. (Dr.) Henry C. Lee, Emeritus Professor, Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, University New Haven, Connecticut, USA, delivered a Guest Lecture on “Recent Advancements in Crime Scene Investigation”, for Forensic Science students at Amity University Noida campus. The aim of the Guest Lecture was to understand the importance of advanced techniques for crime scene investigations, various modern techniques of crime scene investigation and to provide a comprehensive perspective of the principles and practices involved in crime scene investigation. On this occasion, he was also conferred upon Honorary Professorship by Amity University.
Delivering the lecture, Prof. (Dr.) Henry C. Lee, averred, “Forensic Science, also known as criminalistics, is the application of science to support legal decision-making in criminal and civil cases. Forensic Science has many applications in the judicial system including criminal Investigation, Civil Dispute, Public Safety, Environmental Protection, National Security and Cyber Security amongst others. The future investigative techniques would be technology-enabled and include Artificial Intelligence, CCTV, GPS Analysis, Timeline/Suspect profile, Intelligence Data Mining, DNA Genetic Profile and Crime Scene Reconstruction.”
Expressing gratitude to Amity University for conferring upon him Honorary Professorship, he said, “I am immensely grateful to Amity University for bestowing upon me this huge honour. I have been closely associated with Amity for many years and it is an institution which is recognized across the world for providing world class education. I would be extremely pleased to share my knowledge, expertise and experience with the students and provide them all kinds of support, which will help in their career progression in the field of Forensic Science.”
Sharing his success mantra, he further added, “Create a life of purpose, passion, hard work, knowledge, set a limit of no limit, and find a way from no way.” He also called upon the students to manage their time well and be disciplined in life.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh stated, “Amity University extends a warm welcome to Prof. Henry C. Lee and his lecture has been highly enriching and insightful for the students. Forensic Science is extremely crucial in collecting evidence in legal cases and leads to the final judgement in many cases. With Prof. Lee’s valuable guidance, students will be able to enhance their knowledge and become great professionals in their career.”
Prof. (Dr.) Jeff Gheng-Lung Lee, Dept. of Criminal Investigation, Taiwan Police College, shared his experiences and Professor (Dr.) D.K. Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law School delivered a talk on Forensic Assistance in New Criminal Law. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Bansal, Additional Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, presented an overview of Amity Education Group and Dr. Prof. (Dr.) Sunita Rattan, Director, Amity Institute of Applied Science, introduced the theme of the Guest Lecture.
