Delegation from Assam Agriculture University visits Amity University
A delegation from Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam, comprising of Dr. Bidyut Chandan Deka, Vice Chancellor, Assam Agricultural University and Dr. Bidyut Kr Sarmah, Director and Coordinator DBT-NECAB, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam, visited Amity University Noida Campus. The aim of the visit was to explore the potential areas of mutual interest for academic collaboration and to familiarise with the campus infrastructure, research and other facilities of Amity University.
Providing information about the various Programmes offered by Assam Agricultural University, Dr. Bidyut Chandan Deka, Vice Chancellor, Assam Agricultural University, averred, “Assam Agricultural University is one of the oldest Universities of India. Apart from the regular programs, it also offers various online programs for students, and we would like to invite Amity students to join our online programs. Under the Institution Entrepreneurship Development Program, various opportunities to the students are provided to work with the University. We look forward to collaborating with Amity in various areas including Management, Nutrition and Dietetics, and other relevant areas, which will benefit the agricultural community and contribute to the region's economic growth."
Sharing her views, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor AUUP, stated, “The visit marks the beginning of a fruitful partnership between both the institutions, and we are extremely delighted to explore opportunities for mutual growth. Our shared vision for sustainable agriculture and rural development will pave the way forward, for a brighter future.”
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bidyut Kr Sarmah, Director and Coordinator DBT-NECAB, Assam Agricultural University, added, “We would like to partner with Amity University by offering Joint Degree Undergraduate Programs in Biotechnology, Food Technology, Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Capacity Building through Student Training and Scientific Exchange Program, Joint Research, Joint Degree and Joint PhD Programs, Student Exchange Programs, Faculty Exchange Programs, Student Internship Programs, and by organizing joint workshops and conferences.”
Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Bansal, Additional Pro-Vice Chancellor, AUUP welcomed the guests on this occasion and Prof. (Dr.) Nutan Kaushik, Director General, Amity Food and Agriculture Foundation, presented an overview of the Amity Education Group. Also present on the occasion were the HOIs and senior faculty members of Amity University.
During the visit, the delegation toured Amity University's state-of-the-art research facilities and laboratories, showcasing cutting-edge innovations in agriculture and allied sciences, Amity Innovation Incubator and Central Library.
