2nd One Week Faculty Development Program on Research Methodology and Data Analysis using Statistical Tools (Online Mode)
The one-week faculty development programme (FDP) on Research Methodology and Data Analysis using Statistical Tools on Online mode was conducted by Amity Business School, Amity University Madhya Pradesh from June 10, 2024 to June 16, 2024.
Research is a form of systematic enquiry to developed deeper into the subject and produce socially relevant results in different forms like a product, research paper, patent or thesis. There are varied forms of research, each characterized by different methodologies. At every step involved in heading towards a problem solution, a set of tasks are outlined. Every such task like collection of data, searching literature review, deriving a mathematical or computational solution or presentation of the results, requires support from several tools and technologies. These tools are not only assistive but also helpful in improving the quality of the research outcome.
This FDP was specifically designed for the faculties and research scholars to provide them insights about research methodology and data analysis using various statistical tools. Total 138 faculty members, research scholars, industry professionals and students across India registered for the workshop. The objective of this workshop was to provide a comprehensive understanding of statistical concepts relevant to scientific research using appropriate language.
The aim of the FDP was to give foundation research concepts and hands-on experience in applying Document search through Scopus, Systematic literature review, VOSviewer, Biblioshiny, SPSS, to solve research problems. Participants have been trained on statistical tools and techniques with emphasis on research applications.
The FDP was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Anil Vashisht (Offg. Vice Chancellor, Pro VC & Director Amity Business School, Amity University, Madhya Pradesh). Dr. Sandeep Raghuwanshi, Dr. Arif Hasan, Dr. Abhilasha Dixit, Dr. Rashmita Singh, and Dr. Shaifali Garg were the conveners & Dr. Sandeep Raghuwanshi, Dr. Arif Hasan, Dr. Abhilasha Dixit, Dr. Rashmita Singh resource persons for the FDP associated with Amity Business School, Amity University Madhya Pradesh.
Day 1 (10/06/2024)
Inaugural & Session 1
The FDP started on June 10, 2024 at 14:30 hours. The inaugural session was chaired by to Prof. (Dr) Anil Vashisht, (Hon’ble Offg. Vice Chancellor, Pro. VC, Amity University Madhya Pradesh). The Hon’ble Offg. Vice Chancellor Sir inaugurated the FDP and gave best wishes for the upcoming sessions of the FDP and congratulated the organisers. The student Coordinators Mr Pratham and Ms Sanjana Jeetwani welcomed the guests and the participants, briefed the schedule and introduced the resource persons.

Topic: Introduction to Research and Setting Objectives
Content: Identification of Research Problem, Formulation of Objectives, Identification of Constant, Variables, Tests, and Statistical Tools from the objectives.

Topic: Techniques of Systematic Literature Review
Content: Research kit for the beginners, Systematic Literature Review, Difference between SLR, Bibliometric analysis, Meta Analysis and Thematic Literature Review, Literature searching and SLR with Scopus.

Topic: Presentations by the Participants on the Research Paper developed during the FDP.
Content: A competition on Research paper presentation is held with awards announced for best two papers. Reimbursement of the registration amount was done to the respective participants.

Feedback and Valedictory Session
The valedictory session was chaired by Prof. (Dr) Anil Vashisht (Hon’ble Offg. VC, Pro VC & Director Amity Business School, Amity University, Madhya Pradesh). The chairperson thanked all the participants for their active involvement throughout the workshop. He congratulated all the participants and FDP conveners for successful completion and wonderful sessions. The valuable feedbacks were shared by the research scholars and faculties of different streams participated during the one-week FDP.
The vote of thanks was given by Student FDP Co ordinators, Mr Pratham and Ms. Sanjana Jeetwani. Mr Pratham highlighted the immense contribution of the Organizing Committee members and experts. Dr Rashmita Singh and Dr Abhilasha Dixit presented a special thanks to Prof. (Dr) Anil Vashisht, (Hon’ble Offg. Vice Chancellor, Pro. VC, Amity University Madhya Pradesh) for his Guidance, Motivation and Direction. She also thanked all the participants who made this event a grand success by participating wholeheartedly.
Outcome of the FDP:
1. Understanding developed for basics of Research Methodology including problem identification, data analysis, interpreting the data.
2. Established knowledge of systematic literature review by searching data on Scopus, bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer, Biblioshiny.
3. Established knowledge on data analysis and various statistical tool and techniques for different data sets of varied population
4. The participants were skilled in using SPSS software for data analysis and preparation of report
