The Amity Institute of Behavioural and Allied Sciences (AIBAS), Amity University, Madhya Pradesh, marked World Schizophrenia Day 2024 with the theme "Celebrating the Power of Community Kindness." The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Novrattan Sharma, Director of AIBAS AU MP. In his speech, Prof. Sharma emphasized the growing prevalence of mental health issues in society and highlighted the crucial role of psychology students in spreading awareness about schizophrenia and related mental health conditions.

Students from the MPhil Clinical Psychology, Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology, and Rehabilitation Psychology programs presented live acts depicting the core symptoms of schizophrenia. These performances provided a realistic portrayal of the disorder, helping participants understand the condition better. The acts also debunked common myths and discussed interventions, enhancing the audience's comprehension of schizophrenia.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Sharma, Head of the Clinical Psychology Department, facilitated and coordinated the program. His efforts ensured that the event ran smoothly and effectively conveyed its message.
The awareness program not only educated participants about schizophrenia but also offered valuable insights into overall mental health and well-being. The event saw active participation from all department faculty members and students, reflecting a collective effort to foster understanding and compassion within the community.
