Amity University transfers its Technology to Inera Crop Sciences Pvt. Ltd., for the benefit of farmers

 Directorate of Innovation and Technology Transfer (DITT), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus, organized a Technology Transfer Agreement Signing Ceremony between Amity University and Inera Crop Sciences Private Limited, for the transfer of its technology, “Piriformospora Indica Obviates Extreme Temperature Stresses”. The Technology Transfer Agreement was signed by Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Kapoor, Officiating Registrar Amity University and Dr. Shivam Sharma, Director Strategic Partnership, ESCO Global Pvt. Ltd.

Piriformospora Indica Obviates Extreme Temperature Stresses” is a unique symbiotic fungus which not only promotes plant growth but also has multi-functional activities which helps in enhancing productivity, promoting early flowering and in controlling plant diseases. A number of green-house experiments and field trials for this fungus were conducted in various regions of India including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi NCR and Rajasthan.

Expressing his pleasure on the occasion, Dr. Shivam Sharma, Director Strategic Partnership, ESCO Global Pvt. Ltd., averred, “Our company is constantly on the lookout for solutions and alternatives to chemical fertilizers since chemicals are harmful for plants and also for the human body. Therefore, sustainable alternatives such as this product, will be highly beneficial for plant growth and increase crop yield, without harming the environment.”

Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President Amity Education Group stated, “This strategic partnership marks the beginning of a fruitful association between two organizations who are working towards nation building. Research is meaningful when it is used for the development of the country, which is the mission of Amity.”

 

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University said, “The outcome of research must benefit the society and contribute to ViksitBharat@2047. This product will be highly beneficial for the farmers in increasing the crop yield, without the use of any harmful chemicals since it is completely organic. There is a synergy between both organizations and together, we will work on many more collaborations in future, in area of agriculture.”

 

Highlighting the significance of the Technology Transfer Agreement, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation (ASTIF), stated, “Research and innovation is the main focus area at Amity and it is a matter of immense pride and pleasure that Amity technologies are being taken by so many industries which shows their belief in technologies and innovations by Amity scientists. We all must work towards making India a self- reliant country and a sustainable economy.”
