NATIONAL PHARMACY EDUCATION DAY: “PHARMA ANVESHAN”
Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus celebrated “National Pharmacy Education Day” by organizing a health awareness camp, a rally, and a nukkad natak at Lolai village, Chinhat on 6th March 2023 in order to commemorate Prof. M. L. Schroff's birthday. A total of 27 students from Pharm D first, second, third year and B. Pharm 2nd Semester of AIP, AUUP, Lucknow were accompanied by faculty coordinators, Dr. Shraddha Bisht, Ms. Indu Melkani, Dr. Priyal Soni, Dr. Sharad Chand, and Dr. Manoj Dikkatwar and our guest physicians Dr. Ajay Rawat and Dr. Praveen Mishra to the nearby village Lolai. After reaching the village the students prepared themselves for a rally in which students recited slogans related to general awareness, antibiotic resistance, medication adherence, stop narcotics and tobacco products, and maintaining cleanliness, which gave the village people a good description to adopt healthy life habits. The students performed nukkad-natak on the theme “antibiotic resistance and its effects” in the local language to make the common people understand to avoid the misuse of antibiotics.
The natak was highly appreciated by the common people and a positive response was obtained from the viewers. The students further provided proper counselling regarding lifestyle diseases and examined the patients and provided them with the clinical findings of their blood pressure readings, heart rates, temperature, body mass index (BMI), and oxygen saturation. The students also accompanied the physicians in understanding the prescription according to the patient’s complaints. The camp was successfully conducted.
