10th International Conference on Signal Processing and Integrated Networks, “SPIN-2023”, held at Amity

 

Amity School of Engineering & Technology (ASET), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, organized the 10th International Conference on Signal Processing and Integrated Networks, “SPIN-2023” from 23rd to 24th March 2023.

Addressing the gathering during the Inaugural Session, Chief Guest, Dr. Vivek Lall, Chief Executive, General Atomics Global Corporation, San Diego County, California, USA, stated, “Through this Conference, we are going to witness a galaxy of intellectual talent in the form of distinguished guest and speakers who will be sharing their valuable insights with the students. Today, Signal Processing is used in all sectors and Amity has focusses extensively on cutting-edge technological research which will foster the growth of science and technology in the country. Through joint collaborations and rigorous research work, students will be made future ready who will make their country proud.”

 

On this occasion, Honorary Professorship was conferred upon Prof. (Dr.) Harry E. Ruda, Director, Centre for Advanced Nanotechnology, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Delivering his acceptance Speech, Prof. Ruda, said, “Amity is one of the best institutions of the world which nurtures future leaders, and I am glad to be chosen by Amity for Honorary Professorship.”

Dr. Jon M. Jenkins, Research Computer Scientist, NASA Ames Research Center, NASA, USA, said, “Such conferences provide a great opportunity for students,  wherein they listen to the experts’ views on one platform and attain immense knowledge and learning, in their respective fields.”

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Ahmed Abdelgawad, College of Science and Engineering, Central Michigan University, USA, asserted, “We would like to collaborate with Amity in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning which can drive path-breaking innovation through joint research collaboration.”

Advising the students of Amity, Mr. Sumit Sardana, Chief Operating Officer, mCarbon Tech Innovations Pvt. Ltd., said, “Students are the ones who will prove to be the crusaders of technological revolution in the world. Therefore, they must broaden their horizon and think of new ways and means to achieve the best results. They must also use their network and attain practical knowledge through on-site visits to factories and manufacturing units to see how technology is used in the development of new products and devices.”

Dr. V.K. Jain, Distinguished Scientist & Professor Amity Institute of Renewable and Alternative Energy, said, “Technology is changing rapidly therefore, it important to keep abreast of new technologies and keep updating your knowledge. Signal Processing has an application in every field, including the human body as it receives signals through various in-built sensors and processes them so that the body can function properly.”

Highlighting the significance of the Conference, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Deputy Director General, Amity Foundation for Science, Technology & Innovation Alliances (AFSTIA), said, “Amity is leading research and innovation-based institution, and the Conference will bring together the renowned experts from core technological fields and other allied areas to forge linkages and bonds for mutual research benefits. The Conference is an endeavour towards nation-building through science & technology.”

Welcoming the guests and introducing the theme of the Conference, Prof. (Dr.)  Manoj Kumar Pandey, Joint Head, Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “This Conference emphasizes upon the recent advancements in Signal Processing and Integrated Networks and related areas. Over the past few years, SPIN has emerged as a well-recognized conference in the country and overseas because of its high-quality peer-reviewed research articles, invited talks from renowned industry and academic leaders. The Conference will be a catalyst in fostering novel work, sharing views and getting innovative ideas in signal processing and integrated networks research field.”


During the two-day Conference, 35 Eminent International Speakers including Dr Muriel Medard, Professor, MIT, USA, Dr Ian White, President and Vice Chancellor, University of Bath, UK, Dr Jon Jenkings, Sr Scientist, NASA, USA, Dr. Harry E. Ruda, University of Toronto, Canada, Dr Stuart Parkin, Director, Max Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics, Germany, Dr. Nandana Rajatheva, 6G Flagship, University of Oulu, Finland, Dr Annalisa Bruno, Principal Scientist, Nanyang Technical University, Singapore, and many others will be deliberating as keynote Speakers, on various topics including, “Deep Learning & Image Processing, Evolving Communication Technology”, “Communication System, Optimization & Web Security Sensors” & “Adhoc Networks and Control System”, amongst others.

 

In addition, two Pre-Keynote Talks by Dr Jon Jenkins, Sr Scientist, NASA, USA and Dr Ahmed Abdelgawad have also been organized along with two Industry Sessions and one session on ’Women in Engineering’, and more than 550 Research Papers will be presented during the Conference. 

 

SPIN-2023 Proceedings/Book of Abstracts was also released during the Inaugural Session and the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ashwani Kumar Dubey, Professor, Dept of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amity School of Engineering and Technology.
