Amity University conferred upon the prestigious “Questel IP Excellence Award 2022”

 

Achieving yet another milestone, Amity University has been conferred upon the prestigious “Questel IP Excellence Award 2022”, for creating incredible Intellectual Property and in recognition of its remarkable achievements and efforts in the field of research and innovation, in accordance with the assessment of the IP portfolio of the Questel team. Amity University was selected amongst several Indian Universities, Pharma Companies, IPR divisions of government agencies, Corporates, research and government aided organizations, on the basis of filing of patents between Jan 2021 to October 2022. Questel is a French software company that serves the intellectual property, trademark, and innovation industries, with offices in 28 countries of the world, headquartered in Paris, France.

The Award was presented by Ms. Eugene Merigeault, Director, Asia Pacific Sales, Questel and received by Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity University and Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology Innovation Foundation. Also, present on the occasion was Dr. Smita Sahu, Director, Amity IPR Cell, under whose able guidance, Amity has been able to file patents and has signed Technology Transfer Agreements with various companies for commercialization of the products.

 

Expressing extreme pleasure on this occasion, Dr. Ashok K. Delivering his acceptance speech, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity University, said, “Amity has filed around 1800 patents, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group.  Amity believes that education should not be limited only to classrooms, therefore, a strong emphasis is laid upon research and innovation and commercialization of the patents filed. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology Innovation Foundation, said, "The award will motivate us to do more extensive   research work and file more patents which can be used in the commercialization of the products. The team from Questel also visited Amity University to discuss the potential areas of collaboration for Research, Patent Filing and securing Intellectual Property.
