Sahil Chaudhary a student of B.Tech (Information Technology) batch 2018-2022,  from Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, has secured All India Rank 1(Information Technology Stream), in Services Selection Board (SSB), an organization which assesses and selects candidates for the Indian Armed Forces. He has been offered the post of Lieutenant (Class -1, Grade A, Gazetted officer), by the Indian Army and has also been selected as a Flying Officer by the Indian Air Force.

He had appeared for SSB interview through SSC Technical Entry, cleared SSB from Allahabad board and finally the last stage of the selection process, medical examination. SSB includes a rigorous five-day selection process, whereby 15 officers are shortlisted and the selection rate for the same is very minimal, hardly 2-3%.

Congratulating Sahil on this huge accomplishment Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “It is a proud moment for all Amitians as Amity believes in preparing leaders of tomorrow so they can contribute to nation-building and what better way to contribute to nation-building than joining the Army and always be ready to fight for your country, which our student has made possible.”

Extremely delighted at his achievement, Sahil, said, “I wanted to be an Army officer since childhood since my father was in the Army and service to the nation is very close to my heart. The platform and opportunities provided by Amity University Uttar Pradesh helped me to grow and develop my skill sets and abilities. The all-round development and grooming provided by the University helped me immensely at various stages of the selection process and I’m grateful to my teachers and management of Amity University. Though I have also been selected by the Indian Air Force as a Flying officer, being in the Army has always been my first preference and I am already committed to serving my country.”
