Only One Earth
Amity School of Earth & Environmental Sciences, Amity University Haryana organized a webinar “only one earth” on 5th June 2022. With some eminent experts Prof. Dr.Arun Ahluwalia HOD Dept of Geology, Punjab University Chandigarh; Mrs Panni Verma Project Manager, Saahas.The Main objectives of the event were to inspire young minds and ignite the spark for creating awareness about how the environment sustains human activities and links its protection to our own survival. It reminds people that individual, as well as collective; action is required to save the environment.
Prof A.D. Ahluwalia talked well with the theme of this year's World Environment Day, “Only One Earth", focusing on “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”.Over exploitation by humans has destroyed the unique web of life on this planet. India has a long heritage of conserving our environment. Our Vedic literature has references to environmental conservation, ecological balance and the weather cycle.
M. Panni Verma explained everything about E-waste. And also told the complete work background of SAAHAS that it started from Bangalore and now works for almost all areas in India in terms of E-waste management. She told about why E-waste is the fastest growing category of waste. She explained various categories of electronic items that contribute toward E-waste and how they can be managed.
Total no of 52 students and 7 faculties attended the session.
