Amity Institute of Social Sciences, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organized a Guest Lecture in online mode on “Civil Service Support System” on September 30, 2021 for the students of Amity Institute of Social Sciences (AISS). The lecture was delivered by Ambassador Vishnu Prakash IFS (Retd.)
 
Every year, lakhs of people attempt the civil services exam in the hope of becoming a Civil Servant to serve the nation.  But, only a handful of them achieve success in the end. No matter, whatever the background of the aspirant is, the perseverance and hard work always pays off in fulfilling their dream. What makes the few who crack the Civil Service Exam so special and what drives them to take on an exam which is considered to be the toughest in India? To answer such pertinent questions Amity Institute of Social Sciences organized a guest lecture by Ambassador Vishnu Prakash IFS (Retd). 
 
The event commenced with the opening remarks by Director AISS, ASCENT & AISS Prof (Dr.) Iti Roychowdhury. The anchor Ms Shrawasti Mishra, student of BA(H) History III Sem then introduced the distinguished speaker to the audience. The session with the Guest Speaker was highly interactive and extremely insightful. The guest inspired all the young minds with a detailed discussion on the Civil service preparation, opportunities.  He also emphasized that career decision is one of the most significant decisions in one’s life and therefore, it must not be taken under parents’ compulsion or peer pressure. He also motivated the students to never stop following their passion. The session created awareness and enriched the young Civil service aspirants.
 
The lecture was studded with inspiring discussions and exchange of ideas. The queries of the students were answered patiently by the speaker.  It was an extremely comprehensive and holistic guidance for the preparation of Civil Services Examination by such a renowned personality. About 60 students along with the faculty members attended this extremely enriching session. In the end, the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Mahima Khalko, student of B.A.(H) Political Science III Sem.
