A Webinar was conducted by Amity School of Communication on ‘COVID 19: A Boon or Bane for Media Sector?’. Guest for the session was Mr. Alok Sanwal, (COO, Dainik Jagran-inext). He elaborated on economic shifts from big cities to small towns, increase in health and wellness sectors, change in consumption patterns and overall focus on localisation of product and services. In terms of media industry, he highlighted that advertising sector will focus more on solution-based advertising, collaborations of intertwined media will play a key role in content creation and distribution, media houses will be going for cost effective models and new models for income generation will be opted. A new growth window has been opened for small media houses who can create authentic content, OTT platforms will witness more eye-balls than ever before as people will keep social gatherings like movie theatres at bay for some time. He also encouraged students to polish their multi-tasking skills as freshers with updated skill-sets will be hired soon in the replacement recruitment season where companies look for young talents who can keep up with the new technology.  A Q&A session was conducted where students asked their queries. The guest answered all the questions. The session was attended by 140 attendees. The session was coordinated by Mr. Shivanshu Pathak and Ms. Alisha Syedain.
