Amity University organizes a Programme on “Research and Funding Opportunities in Europe” in collaboration with EURAXESS, European Union
Amity Foundation for Science, Technology & Innovation Alliances (AFSTIA) , Amity University Noida, organized a Programme on “Exploring Research and Funding Opportunities in Europe in collaboration with EURAXESS, European Union”, on the occasion of European Union Research and Innovation Information Day. The aim of the informative session was to explore the myriads of collaborative opportunities available for Indian researchers in European countries. EURAXESS, a pan-European initiative, offers a comprehensive suite of services to support research careers, including funding opportunities, career guidance, and networking. With a presence in 43 European Countries and 9 Global Hubs, EURAXESS facilitates mobility and fosters international collaboration.
Addressing the research scholars, D. Ing. Pierrick Fillon-Ashida, First Counsellor -Head of R&I Section, Delegation of the EU to India, stated, “EURAXESS offers advice on career development, tools to enhance your skills, and also provides concrete assistance with relocating for your next big opportunity. No matter what stage of your research path or scientific business you are at, EURAXESS is a comprehensive career and innovation hub for information and assistance. With 43 European countries and 9 worldwide hubs, EURAXESS is the largest pan-European initiative to foster researchers’ mobility and career development. We strengthen scientific collaboration between Europe and the global community, opening doors to endless possibilities for researchers worldwide.”
Providing information about EU-India Partnership on Research & Innovation and cooperation opportunities with focus on EU’s Horizon Europe programme, Dr. Samrat S. Kumar, Country Coordinator, EURAXESS, said, “Horizon Europe 2021-2027 is EU’s key funding programme for research and Innovation, with a budget of 95.5 billion Euros. It aims to tackle global cooperation to combat climate, , health and digital challenges and helps in achieving the UN’s SDGs. Its mission is to boost scientific excellence, innovation, competitiveness and growth, and it is open to researchers, universities and businesses worldwide.”
Prof (Dr) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “The information and knowledge provided in today's program will be immensely beneficial for our researchers and students. Amity is conducting research and academic collaborations with many European institutions which are benefiting the students. Today, research programs on many major topics like semiconductor, green hydrogen, health etc. are being conducted at Amity since we believe that research should not benefit only our own country but the entire world.”
On this occasion Presentations on Research, Innovation and Study Opportunities in Europe by representatives from Germany, Czech Republic, France, Poland, Switzerland and many other countries, were also made. An overview of Amity University and its Research Landscape was presented by Dr. A. K. Singh, Senior Vice President, AFSTIA and the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Chanderdeep Tandon, Addl. Pro-Vice Chancellor, Amity University Noida. Also present on the occasion were Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President ASTIF, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor Amity Universities, senior faculty and research scholars of Amity.
