The need of the hour is to collaborate and innovate to develop sustainable products so that we can protect the environment and stop further degradation.”

Mr. Jason Turner, Professor and Head of Business School, University of Southampton Malaysia, stated, “Such Conference are extremely relevant today considering the huge problems of climate change and global warming. The role of higher education institutions is extremely crucial in aligning education with sustainable development. Students are future decision makers, and they must take the right decisions and actions to safeguard our planet, which is deteriorating day by day. Education, training and knowledge must be incorporated into the curriculum and higher education institutions must come forward and introduce new initiatives to combat the problem of climate change.”

Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “The government has taken many initiatives to achieve the mission of Viksit Bharat and adopting Sustainable Business Practices will play a major role in achieving this mission.  Amity constantly endeavours to connect with global business leaders and provide global exposure and learning to the students, so that they can expand their horizon and adapt themselves to different work cultures across the globe.”

Delivering the Keynote Address, Mr. Ashok Baran Chakraborty, Senior Advisor, CUTS Institute for Regulation and Competition, New Delhi, asserted, “Students are the future of the world and what they do and think must revolve around sustainability since we cannot afford to waste any more time in thinking about how to face the challenges of climate change. Our mission must be to decarbonize, move on a low carbon path and reverse the ill effects of climate change and how soon we can become net zero and carbon neutral. Sustainable outcomes must be measurable, reportable and verifiable covering all aspects- economic, environmental and social. Waste is not waste; it is actually a resource and one can make good use of it. Zero-waste campus, no single use plastic, waste compost and reusage and reusable packaging are some of the ways in which higher education institutions can adopt sustainable practices.”
