Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrates 76th Republic Day of the Nation
Amity University Madhya Pradesh Gwalior celebrated the 76th Republic Day of the nation on 26th January 2025 in the vibrant campus in physical and online mode with immense patriotic spirit, embodying the unity and dedication that drives nation-building
Hon’ble Pro Chancellor AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd), and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr) R. S. Tomar unfurled the Tricolour to the tune of the National Anthem to begin the festivities of the day.
In his address to the students, faculty and staff of Amity University Madhya Pradesh, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr.) R S Tomar said that the occasion reminds us for our commitment to our country with strong values and ethics. He further stated that on the 76th Republic Day, we celebrate Swarnim Bharat – Virasat aur Vikas (Golden India – Heritage and Development), a theme that beautifully captures India’s journey of preserving its roots while striving for innovation and progress. Values and ethics should not be forgotten as they are the foundation of a country’s growth.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor also threw light on the importance of Republic Day in India and urged everyone to contribute to the mission of de-addiction, fostering a safer and healthier society
Hon’ble Pro Chancellor, Lt General V. K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd) addressed the students, faculty and staff of Amity University Madhya Pradesh laying emphasis on the importance of Republic Day Parade. The Hon’ble Pro Chancellor opined that India is a peace-loving country, but we have the calibre to guard our boundaries. He further stated that the parade features vibrant tableaux—decorated platforms that showcase scenes representing India's cultural heritage, achievements, and diversity. These moving exhibits provide a visual narrative of the nation's rich traditions and progress.
Hon’ble Pro Chancellor, Lt General V. K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd) stated that every individual’s growth will contribute to the growth of our Nation. Having empathy, good thoughts and honesty will make our Nation strong. He urged the teachers to guide the students for developing a good personality so that they could become good citizens. He also praised the supporting staff of the University for their contribution in making the campus a clean place.
A brief cultural programme was presented by the students and faculty of Amity University Madhya Pradesh. Ms Manya Bhadoria presented a patriotic poem which was followed by rendition of a patriotic song by Ms Gauri Pandit, a classical dance performance by Ms Aadrika Sharma and Ms Sanjana Rathore, and the rendition of poem by Dr Aakash Gupta, Assistant Professor, Amity Law School, AUMP captivated the audience.
A few games namely Spider Run and Passing the Ball in male category and Circle Race and Plate Ball Collect in female category were organized on this day. To boost the morale of supporting staff of the University. The participants were heartily cheered by the audience who thoroughly enjoyed the zeal and enthusiasm displayed by the participants during the event.
Hon’ble Pro Chancellor, Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd), AUMP along with, Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr) R S Tomar, Prof Pro Vice Chancellor (R) Prof (Dr) M. P Kaushik, Prof (Dr) Iti Roychowdhury, DSW AUMP and other eminent dignitaries distributed the prizes to the winners of games held for support staff.
To cherish this celebration, the Amitians had the privilege of clicking group photographs with Hon’ble Pro Chancellor, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries on this auspicious occasion of Republic Day. The festivities culminated with the distribution of sweets to the students, faculty and staff of the University.
