Amity University, in collaboration with National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, organizes “Digital India Talk Show”
Amity University and National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, organized Digital India Talk Show, to sensitize students about the Digital India Program of the Government of India.
Providing information about DigiLocker, Ms. Janhvi, Manager, National e-Governance Division, said, “The digital wallet initiative was introduced to digitally empower the citizens. DigiLocker has connected all the e-governance ecosystems. The person gets the facility to keep birth certificate, educational certificate, caste certificate, vehicle registered certificate, driving license, voter ID card, PAN card etc. safe in one place and use it at the time of need. Digital Locker keeps the documents of citizens safe and private, which can be used anywhere, anytime and which are environment friendly. Digi Locker has two main parts, first providing the documents and uploading the documents by themselves.” She also provided information about Entity Locker, API Bridge, and others, during the conference.
Addressing the students, Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Additional Pro-Vice Chancellor, Amity University said, “This awareness program is a great initiative by National e-Governance Division of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology which is being conducted today at Amity University. The information provided by the experts will be highly beneficial for the students and they must share it with their friends and family so that they can also become aware and get benefitted.”
Dr. B.K. Murthy, Dean, Translational Research & Entrepreneurship Development, Amity University, said, “Technology has transformed the world at large, specially after the pandemic. The Government of India had launched many initiatives and Aarogya Setu App, Cowin App, were launched during that time which were highly beneficial for the masses. Today, UPI Payments are used the most in India and digital India initiative has penetrated even the remotest of towns and villages. This Program will enlighten the students about the various digital initiatives and provide useful information on cyber security, Digi Locker, Open Forge, etc.”
Mr. Amit Kumar, Deputy General Manager, National e-Governance Division, said, “OpenForge is a platform for collaborative development of e-Governance applications in India. OpenForge is working for collaborative development of e-Governance applications in India for government departments as well as private organizations.”
The Programme concluded with a Digital India Quiz by NeGD officials and over 200 students from management, information technology and forensic science domains participated in the programme.
