Amity University hosts students from Monash University Australia, under Global Immersion Guarantee Programme
Amity University is hosting 89 Students from Monash University, Australia, as part of the Global Immersion Guarantee Programme, for two weeks. The students are accompanied by six faculty members including Dr. Gabriel Garcia Ochoa, Director of the Global Immersion Guarantee Program of Monash University.
During their two-week stay at Amity University, students will be provided insights on topics such as “Human Impact on the Environment”, “How to Balance Environmental Protection and Sustainability with Economic and Social Development” and “Discover How You Can Contribute and Make a Difference”.
Addressing the students during the Inaugural Session, Dr. Gabriel Garcia Ochoa, Director of the Global Immersion Guarantee Program at Monash University, averred, "We are very happy to visit Amity University, which is a globally renowned and highly prestigious institution. The Global Immersion Guarantee Program will not only strengthen the relationship between Monash University and Amity but will also strengthen the relationship between Australia and India. During the Programme, students will get knowledge about the Indian culture, values and tradition, which will foster cultural exchange between the two countries. Learning new strategies of business management and attaining industry knowledge will be helpful for students in their professional career.” He urged the students to take advantage of this opportunity and attain maximum learning and knowledge.
Welcoming the students, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor Amity Universities, said, “Amity University is delighted to host the students from Monash University, since India and Australia share strong bilateral ties. Visiting different countries provides immense learning and global exposure, which is very important in today’s scenario. Students of Monash University are a part of the global Amity family now and the visit will be highly beneficial for the students. Amity will not only provide knowledge to the students about the advanced industry practices, and management skills but also the values on which Indian culture is based. As part of this Programme, students will get the opportunity to meet our highly accomplished faculty and experience the advanced infrastructure of Amity including the laboratories, Amity Innovation Incubator, and Central Library. During their two-week stay, students will attend academic classes, go for heritage site seeing and participate in various activities organized collaboratively by Amity University and Monash University.”
The Inaugural Session concluded with a cultural dance performance by the students of Amity. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Chandra Vadhana Radhakrishnan, Senior Lecturer, Dr. Anupama Sethi, Lecturer, Monash Business School, Dr. Sharon Yahalom from the Faculty of Nursing Medicine & Health Sciences, Mr. John Yeong Hann Ling, Teaching Fellow, Ms. Michelle Rode, Indigenous Academic Engagement Officer, all from Monash University.
