A delegation from Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone (AMTZ) comprising of Dr. Santosh Kumar Balivada, CEO- Material Science Centres and Dr. Mahesh Shirke, Chief Digital Officer and Head- Health Services, Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam, visited Amity University Noida campus. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mahesh Shirke, Chief Digital Officer, and Head- Health Services, AMTZ, said, “AMTZ is the A to Z of Medical technology, which works right from the ideation to bringing the product into the market. Amity is creating a unique ecosystem of research and innovation, which has created new technologies for the benefit of the society. Technology is the main driving force for development, and it is changing the world rapidly. Technology in the medical industry has seen robust growth after the pandemic. The success of a technology lies in local acceptability and therefore, a technology must be simple, user-friendly, useful for the masses and has a greater acceptance. However, technology should be disruptive, not destructive and collaborative work between medical practitioners and engineers, can lead to unprecedented development. In this era of Artificial Intelligence, it the human intelligence which should control Artificial Intelligence, not vice versa.”

Sharing her views on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, AUUP, stated, “Technology and innovation must address societal needs and fulfil the requirements of the common masses. Research should be transferred to start ups who are looking for new technologies and at Amity, we encourage the students to launch their own start-ups since they can provide employment and contribute to the development of the country. In addition, an employer works with a 360-degree approach since he is not only an employer but also looks into different areas such as human resource, finance, sales and other key areas of a business, which helps in understanding the nuances of business.”

Murthy, Dean (Translational Research and Entrepreneurship Development) Science, Engineering and Technology, said, “We extend a warm welcome to the delegation from AMTZ which has immensely contributed during the battle against the Covid pandemic by producing over 100 ventilators, 500 oxygen concentrators and 1 million RT PCR kits every day.
