Amity Business School organized Corporate Connect Session on “Career in Automobile and Entrepreneurship” on 27th February 2021 by Manav Kapoor, Executive Director, Steelbird International.
The Main objective of the event was to apprise and mould Management students of ABS, AUH to have insight into the actual working of corporate ecosystem/ expert mind-set, and how best to mould themselves with intellectual, behavioural, personality and execution skill-set to become an efficient Manager.
The interactive session conducted by Mr. Manav Kapoor, Executive Director of Steelbird International (A pioneer auto filters and rubber component manufacturer-supplier of Automobile Industry); initiated with his introduction. Mr. Kapoor discussed the manufacturing processes of the automobile industry on automated platform, wherein due to intense competition and challenges the business model applicable to them must incorporate not only quality, environment, hygiene and safety factors but also supply chain, financial, marketing and entrepreneurship factors also so as to ensure continuous improvement and increase in quality output, which must be cost effective and further should be delivered quickly, furthering the product choices for the customers. He emphasised the R&D and innovative findings and observation should be incorporated quickly and stated the significance of business research.
Mr Manav Kapoor while turning his deliverance into interactive mode with students and faculties answered extensively the queries posed by them; wherein he clarified the steps for entrepreneurship development firstly with identification of a business idea and then how this idea can be build up into a business model for which the project report is more significant than the funding. The project report should not focus on money earning potential only but also on team and talent building, passion for execution excellence, innovation incorporation also.
Mr. Manav Kapoor explained the challenges with the disruption and re-orientation of supply chain particularly with coming up of electric vehicles and the vast opportunities unleashed with it. He stated now the engines will also be started manufacturing as a component and vehicle would rather be assembled like a laptop, mobile or any white goods, which would lead to plethora of entrepreneurship projects into this area of customised vehicle manufacturing and designing.
The Corporate Connect Session is ended with thanksgiving by Mr. Manoj Sahani, Director – Corporate Resource Centre and Dy. Director Mr. Ankur Gupta with the consent for summer internship projects and future sessions by Mr. Manav Kapoor.
