Amity University Gurugram organizes 2nd National Conference on “Research Methodology” on 1st April 2019. The main speaker of the conference were Dr Mini George, Principal, CON, ILBS and Dr Deepika Khakha, Lecturer, AIIMS . Maj Gen Mahavir Singh, Prof Tamil Selvi and Prof Smriti were also present at the occasion. Around ten nursing institutions (RR College of Nursing, MG College of Nursing, Jaipur, Subharti University etc) have participated in the conference with total number of around two hundred registrations.

Understanding of research methodology is essential to bring about changes in the clinical areas so that the Evidence Based Practice approach can be incorporated in patient Care to provide the highest quality and most cost-efficient patient care possible. This one day conference is a platform for exchanging ideas as well as enable us to apply correct methods, materials, scientific tools and techniques relevant for the problem chosen.

Dr. Mini George, Principal, CON, ILBS while addressing the students at the conference explained about various experimental designs like true experimental designs, Solomon four group design , factorial design and RCT in a simple manner with beautiful diagrams.

Dr. Deepika Khakha, Lecturer, AIIMS in her session deliberated upon the types of Qualitative research designs including ethnography, phenomenology and grounded theory. Her examples of lived experiences of survivors of breast cancer and transgenders made the session even more interesting.

While addressing the students Maj Gen Mahavir Singh, Dean, AMS said research is the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and arrive at new conclusions.

While addressing the gathering Prof A. Tamil Selvi, HOI, ACON said, “Research inculcates scientific and inductive thinking and it promotes the development of logical habits of thinking and organization.”Dr Smriti concluded the vote of thanks.
