Advanced Molecular tests and their clinical significance

 The lecture began with the full energy and enthusiasm in the morning at 10: 30 AM, at D block, D-425 Room, AMS, Amity University Haryana. The welcome speech was addressed by Ms. Pragati Saxena, students of B.Sc MLT III semester.

 

Dr Pallavi Jain is well-known Biochemist and currently working as a Attending Consultant (Full-time), at Department of Biochemistry, Medanta –the Medicity, Gurgaon . The topic of the lecture was “Advanced Molecular tests and their clinical significance”. She delivered her lecture on different methods of  advanced molecular laboratory tests diagnosis and their clinical importance. The lecture was very knowledgeable to the students and faculties. Followed by the lecture, a session of question and answer was arranged in which participants asked their questions and were clarified by the guest.  The lecture completed at 12:00 PM, vote of thanks was given to the guest by Mr. Chayan (student, M.Sc MLT I semester) on  behalf of the department of MLT, AMS.

 

 

 

Brief report

 

Dr. Pallavi started her lecture by giving introduction of Clinical Laboratory and his different departments with special reference to Clinical Biochemistry.

 

The highlighted points of her talk were as follows :

 

1.      Introduction of Clinical Biochemistry 

2.      Techniques used for routine testing

3.      Advanced techniques for diagnosis and research 

4. Updates the latest molecular techniques to diagnosis of disease such as MTB, NTM through- Gene Xpert, PCR

5. Hepatitis and its latest diagnostic methods including drug resistant and rapid tests

6. Latest methods to detect cancers, heart disease, diabetes and many more.

7. Highlight the new research areas and possible solutions for challenging and life threatening diseases. The lecture was full of knowledge and very interesting to the students and faculties.

Questions and answers session was arranged in which participants asked their questions and were clarified doubts by the guest.
