Saakar Mega Health Mela 2019

Amity University Gurgram Social Responsibility Group "Saakar", led by the students of Amity organized a three days Health Mela across slums areas of Sector 14, Sector, 52 and Sector 69, Gurugram. The Mega Health Mela saw more than 1500 slum residents across these locations getting an opportunity to receive free consultation from doctors for their varied ailments and medical concerns, vision, speech and auditory check-ups. 

This three-day event was inaugurated by Maj. Gen. G.S.Bal, Dean of Student’s Welfare, Amity University Gurugram. Saakarians accompanied by a medical team of doctors, nurses, optometrists, audiologists and nutritionists came together for this social cause. A separate tent was set up for each department where they attended to the patients. Special focus was laid on preventive treatment as there were awareness sessions along with curative treatment. Local residents in the adjoining clusters also came forward to benefit from this endeavor.
