Amity School of Hospitality, Amity University Haryana, Gurugram Organized online lecture on Importance of Maintaining Highest Standard of Hygiene in Hotel Operations by  Mr. Subir Verma , Corporate Training Manager, Ananta Group of Hotels and Ms. Richa Singh – Head of Learning, Development & Diversity, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group on 30th April 2020. Total 30 + students participated in the webinar.

The Main objective of the event is to acquaint students with the importance of maintaining standards of hygiene in hotel industry. This webinar attracted student’s attention towards the important requirements and attributes which a hotel employee/staff needs to be equipped with in order to maintain highest hygiene standards in hotel operations and eventually, this ensures guest satisfaction and repeat business creating revenue for hotels. 

Mr. Subir Verma , Corporate Training Manager, Ananta Group of Hotels and Ms. Richa Singh – Head of Learning, Development & Diversity, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group talks about the food safety standards and strict hygiene regulations have been established to ensure that all food prepared and sold in the hospitality and catering sector is safe for consumption. Health and safety is vitally important; and hotels, restaurants, cafes and catering outlets must enforce strict guidelines in the workplace and complete regular health and safety and hygiene checks.

He also spoke on  Saftey Due Diligence Diaries’ are designed to enable businesses to efficiently record all compliance activities, as well as to easily introduce new health, safety and hygiene procedures. He also mentioned on Food Standards Agency (FSA), cross-contamination which is one of the most common causes of food poisoning. It happens when harmful bacteria are spread onto food from other food, surfaces, hands or equipment. Raw meat and poultry, and eggs, are more likely to contain harmful bacteria than other foods.

Overall it was a very informative session for students.
